Aftercare

You will need 3 things

  • Plain Dial soft soap( no scents, dyes,)

  • Aquaphor

  • Coconut oil, refined coconut oil if you are allergic, or plain lotion  and tp iuptwill suffice if you prefer not to use it at all.

First 3 days

Wash your hands thoroughly with the dial soap before you handle the tattoo. ( be sure to clean any visible dirt under the fingernails as this is where most bacteria will be)

Apply the dial soft soap to the surface of your palm using warm water and gently clean the area of your tattoo with your hand.( do not use paper towels or wash cloths or anything abrasive). A circular motion tends to work well. Clean until all the excess is gone.

Let the tattoo air dry or you can pat it dry with a clean paper towel( do not do the circular motion for this)

Apply the aquaphor is small dabs at a time in a circular motion. You do not want to use an excessive amount of aquaphor. Just enough to moisturize the skin. The same as you would with lotion.

Repeat this process 3 times a day( breakfast lunch and dinner)

If you are going to place fabric over your tattoo then you will need to wrap your tattoo in plastic to protect it from the bacteria in your clothes.

Make sure to clean the tattoo before working out and afterwards.

ON DAY 4

Stop applying the aquahor but still clean the tattoo. At this point the tattoo should be closed and no longer an open wound. So you can use regular soap to clean the tattoo. Begin applying the coconut oil or lotion instead of the aquaphor. You can use the coconut oil or lotion 6 or 7 times a day to keep the tattoo moisturized. I usually leave this up to the you. Whenever it feels dry or tight then apply either one.

Sunblock is a smart idea for the longevity of your tattoo. Spf 40

Obviously no scratching or picking at it but if you just must scratch then apply a thin sheet of plastic wrap and scratch the plastic so you dont hurt the tattoo: life hack.

Thats it enjoy your new tattoo
